Squash Player Magazine

Issue 4 of Squash Player magazine (the official magazine of World Squash) is now out.

Egypt dominate Squash Player’s 2018 awards, which are announced in the magazine’s final issue of the year, heading four of the nine categories.

Mohamed ElShorbagy and Nour El Sherbini are named Players of the Year, while Hania El Hammamy is one of the Young Players of the Year and Egypt’s Women’s World Championship-winning squad are Team of the Year.

There are also awards for Surprise of the Year (Miguel Angel Rodriguez’s British Open triumph), Highlight of the Year (James Willstrop’s Commonwealth Games singles gold medal), Comeback of the Year (Low Wee Wern) and Most Improved Player of the Year (Simon Rosner).

Meanwhile, readers selected Steve Line’s picture of Amanda Sobhy standing over a beaten Nour El Tayeb at the U.S. Open as the magazine’s Photo of the Year.

We also have interviews with rising Welsh star Joel Makin and in-form Egyptian Tarek Momen, plus in-depth reports on the Qatar Classic and squash’s appearance at the Youth Olympics.
