Ladies O40s begin title defence

001Yorkshire ladies over 40s began the 2013-14 season, defending the title which they have won for the last 2 years, by travelling to Warwickshire at the weekend (13th Oct). The team was somewhat weakened with the loss of No. 1 Claire Walker, at the last minute due to family illness. The squad was made up of:

Andrea Santamaria (Pontefract)
Kate Fisher (Dunnington)
Paula Arrowsmith( Chapel Allerton)
Kim Chadwick (Dunnington)
Gill Choyce (Pontefract)

With a comfortable 4-1 victory over Warwickshire, Yorkshire then faced a strong Nottinghamshire team. After wins for Kim and Gill, at 2-2 the result rested with No 2 string, Kate, who, after a very tight match, just lost out 2-3 to Izzy Tyrell. Result: Nottinghamshire 3, Yorkshire 2.

Nottinghamshire then went on to beat Warwickshire 3-2.

The team will now travel to Cheshire on January 12th, hopefully with a full strength team so that they will still qualify for the Finals on March 22-23.
